Sir Walter lawn installation
If you are looking to make the get the most out of your Sir Walter lawn, here are some professional instructions that will help you get the best results.

Prepare your surface
Spray the existing area with a non-selective herbicide to deter future and current weeds. This includes areas in your yard with and without grass. Also, remove any rocks and dead weeds to ensure a smooth surface for laying the soil.

Remove existing grass
Remove any old grass that may still exist from the proposed area with proper machinery. If there is no grass, skip to step 3. To remove your old lawn, we recommend a rotary hoe, or for large projects, a bobcat. As mentioned above, any rocks or objects should be removed.

Lay your soil
Lay your soil. To maintain a ‘flush’ finish, we recommend keeping your soil level 20-30mm under your lawn edging and other surfaces such as driveways. This step should be done a week in advance of laying your turf to allow soil development.

Apply fertiliser
Spread fertiliser across your turf for better establishment. This should be done once the soil has been raked to a smooth level. Encouraging strong colour and growth, a good fertiliser to use is the Lawn Solutions Premium Lawn Fertiliser by LSA.

Lay your turf
Roll out the turf starting from the edge/outer corner of your lawn. We recommend placing full rolls against hard boundaries/walls and working in from there. You should also stagger the joints of the turf for better growth. This should be done on the day of delivery while the turf is fresh.

Water your turf
To help maintain or restore its health, an iron supplement can go a long way for a Sir Walter lawn. Applying the iron supplements in late autumn, and allowing it to soak right before winter, can help your lawn regain its colour and survive the colder season.
