After purchasing our near new home in Rouse Hill, I wasn't happy with the previous landscaping and lawn in our front yard. Many people had told me to purchase Sir Walter Turf and I decided to do a little homework on other turf varieties.

I received some free tickets to the 'Gardening Australia Live' show at Homebush Bay and took the family for a day out. I spoke with many turf farmers who gave me plenty of feedback on all different types of turf. I had my mind made up to purchase Sir Walter Turf until I met Frank and the boys from J&B Buffalo at their stand. The professionalism of the staff, the presentation of the stand and the information available to me was very impressive. Even the kids had plenty of fun looking and touching the turf on display. I spent over 40 minutes talking with Frank who introduced me to his ST26 soft leaf buffalo variety.

Within weeks I had excavated my front lawn and ordered my ST26 turf. The service was outstanding from the first phone call to the delivery of the turf. Frank was more than happy to hang around and give me tips on how to lay the grass and what to do in the first crucial weeks of growth. The attraction was instant as neighbours would stop on their way home and comment on my new front lawn. "It is like walking on carpet", was the reaction from all my neighbours. The kids love to play with their friends on the lawn and it is a weekly event for neighbours to come over and share a beer or two whilst sitting on the front lawn.

With the pool finally completed all we needed was to landscape and turf the surrounds. We called a number of turf suppliers and then spoke to Rob from J & B Buffalo. Rob's advice and professionalism was great and we were even invited out to the farm to inspect the grass prior to delivery.

Rob recommended a slow-growing variety the ST85 (Ausfine) Buffalo. Being so close to the pool we needed a slow grower with minimal mowing to reduce the maintenance of the pool area. The turf was delivered and laid for us very promptly and was of a very high standard.

Rob's advice was true to its word and within weeks we were able to enjoy our girls relaxing by the pool, not wasting time mowing lawns.

Our back yard was well over due for a make over but with four active teenage children, life can be pretty busy and to be honest we weren't sure where to start. We made contact with a few turf suppliers and got plenty of mixed opinion on which variety to buy - although we did come to the concluson buffalo was the way to go.

We then spoke to Vicki from Buffalo Turf Supplies, who had five buffalo varieties available and once we described the conditions of our back yard she recommended the Kings Pride Buffalo as it was a very shade tolerant buffalo with a manicured leaf.

Our turf was delivered, the driver got us started with the laying of the turf and before we knew it our back yard was transformed. Since laying the turf, it has thrived athough the area is heavily shaded. The team from J & B Buffalo are always happy to answer our calls and give us follow up advice.
